When it comes to replacement TPU tires, the main question is always:
"How do they compare to the original?"
When comparing their appearance, I focused on three main points: "texture," "color," and "overall impression from a distance."
Below, we'll look at the differences one by one, using actual photos from use.
Since TPU is a slightly glossy material, some might initially think, "Will it look out of place?"
However, once installed, it's surprisingly unnoticeable. Up close, of course, the difference in texture from the original is clear. But that's only when it's brand new.
As you use it, dirt from the floor and minor scratches accumulate, and it naturally blends in with a darker tone. It doesn't take long for it to assimilate into the suitcase's overall look.
What's interesting is that from a distance, there's almost no discernible difference. When you're moving around or rolling it across an airport floor, virtually no one can point out the difference from the original.
I understand the feeling of "I'll only feel secure with the original," but TPU tires are perfectly practical in both appearance and feel. As a convenient replacement option, it's an ideal upgrade, especially for those who want to use their suitcase for a long time.
