When returning from skiing,
I'd toss my ski poles into the car's trunk.
That's how it had always been.
But to be honest,
It irritated me every time.
What I didn't like
・Poles getting tangled
・Sliding on the floor and hitting the tailgate
・Difficulty placing other items on top
・The basic assumption that "they just have to go on the floor"
Most people probably just think,
"Well, that's just how it is."
and leave it at that.
But for me, that always bothered me.
Does it have to be on the floor?
One day, it suddenly occurred to me.
"Is this really the optimal way?"
Is there no other option than laying them flat on the floor?
Thinking about it,
It felt like "it's just always been done that way."
What if I put them vertically?
I tried
standing them up behind the headrest.
Suddenly, the floor was completely clear.
I could place other things.
The flow of movement was restored.
The poles didn't get tangled.
It was surprisingly organized.
The true source of irritation
The true source of my irritation was
"something I had assumed was unavoidable."
Only placing them on the floor.
I hadn't questioned that premise.
But when I did question it, I found another way.
That's why I made it.
A holder that attaches to the headrest
to store poles vertically.
It's not a flashy product.
But I realized how much better I felt
just by having a clear floor space.
In the next article,
Why the headrest?
Why vertical?
I'll explain the design philosophy.
